Not as Cool as Nashville Cats, but...

In the interest of writing a group of semi-related web pages and linking them together, the subject of Coolville Cats seems to make some sense. Google appreciates cross-referenced compositions pointing back to each other, and we're not here to argue with success. We may tease success or make fun of it a little out of petty jealousy, but we crave clicks as much as every other blogger in their parents' basement.

Located approximately at 39°13′20″N 81°47′52″W, the village of Coolville sits astride the James A Rhodes Appalachian HIghway in western Ohio, USA. Varieties of cats share this .9 mi2 of real estate with over 500 sturdy Ohio folk. Current census data conveniently omits cat counts, therefore we can only assume precisely specific numbers of felines. Let's go with 425.

Groovy Paws Bakery

Coolville refuses to sit idly by as the designer pet food craze sweeps through southern Ohio from Belpre to South Point to Portsmouth. Visit the Groovy Paws Bakery for mouth-watering kitty treats prepared with authentic buckeye love. Look for their products at the Nelsonville Farmers' Market on the last Friday of the month, at least until October. Expect satellite trucks from The Food Network to be parked outside.

Reading Cats

Stroll down Main Street to visit the Coolville Public Library and check out a cat book. Believe it or not, The Coolville Public Library originally settled into one of the oldest brick buildings in town back in 1990. Friendly librarians will entrust you with an official library card, certainly accepted throughout all of Athens County including, but not limited to, Albany, Chauncey, Glouster, Nelsonville, and The Plains. Use the Dewey Decimal System to identify cat-specific books, DVDs, magazines, and adorable calendars. Tarry in the air-conditioned reading area and take advantage of the free wireless Internet service to look up sites with cats.

Fishing Cats

Depend on the Coolville Public Boat Ramp for easy access to 4 Mile Creek. Park your car and enjoy the picnic tables provided buy the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. From there, a brief downstream paddle propels you and your flatboat to the Hocking River. Catfish abound.

Stop by the Cool Stop general store on 25780 Brimstone Rd (don't lose the irony) to stock up on raw chicken livers virtually guaranteed to attract channel cats, blue cats, and flathead cats. Catfish are nocturnal: spend your day at the library, then wet your line when the sun goes gown.

In Summary

Many people and places are from Coolville. Some are enumerated herein. More can be found here. Thanks for reading!
