Chicken Run: Free Online Chicken Game

Updated on March 30, 2012

Chicken Run: Free Online Chicken Game

Outside the barbed wire exists a world of chicken delights. Outside the fence no one eats chicken tenders with their bleu cheese while watching sports on flat screen televisions. Minions of Colonel Sanders cannot reach beyond the barnyard.

The chickens need your help to achieve this avian nirvana. They cobbled together strategic escaping equipment, but their aiming skills have severely atrophied after generations of being cooped up.

Will you help the birds bounce off the mattress to achieve escape velocity? At least you can try. Chicken Run, another in a long line of free online chicken games, just might supplant Angry Birds as the game of choice in the back row of junior high school computer labs. It's that good.

Here's the Chicken Run Back-Story

Evidently, standard farmyard chickens figured out how to build launch ramps and levitating mattress carriers. Digging a tunnel eludes them, but moderate carpentry is mastered. Aligning the ramp properly creates a ballistic trajectory resulting in a bounce off the mattress, over the fence, and into freedom. Poorly planned escapades result in a trip to solitary confinement until the KFC truck pulls up. Your job is to aim the ramp and calibrate the leap. These birds desperately need your help.

How do you win?

We are all winners when we stoop to help a chicken to bounce off a mattress. Free online chicken games rarely provide such a level of self-satisfaction. Rather than shooting chickens or shooting chickens at other chickens or baking chickens, you have the unique opportunity to provide comfort and solace to our tasty (oops) semi-flightless friends.

Is it safe?

Chicken Run appears safe for you and your family, but not for the chickens. Unless all your cluckers manage to escape. Dire consequences await unfortunate fowls failing to fly beyond the fence. Watching them trudge back to the henhouse after flopping brings to mind sesame buns and french fries on the deck with neighbors. Not exactly a win-win, but PETA hasn't managed to shut down the site.

The game executes in a mostly-safe digital cocoon called the Flash Player. Most modern computers support a free version of the player. Visit Abobe.com for your own personal copy. Playing the game requires no downloads or installations beyond Flash.
